# Cabin cruiser and yacht storage

Bigger boats narrow the list: the travel lift has to take the weight, the building door has to clear the arch, and systems need proper winterizing. Tell us the LOA, beam, weight and air draft.

## Cruiser storage spec sheet

- Typical LOA: 28 to 50 ft and up
- What to give the yard: LOA, beam, dry weight, air draft with arch or radar, draft
- Common storage: Outdoor on stands with wrap, cold or heated buildings, in-water with ice protection
- Systems: Engines, generator, fresh water, holding tank, AC, hot water heater
- Access: Ask if you can get aboard over winter and run shore power

## Cruiser questions

**Can my boat stay in the water over winter?**

Some Lake Ontario and coastal marinas allow it with bubblers or de-icers and rules on minimum size. On the BC coast it is the norm. See [yacht storage](https://boatparking.ca/storage/yacht-storage/).

**What travel lift capacity do I need?**

Give us the dry weight plus fuel and water. Many yard lifts take 35 to 50 tons; larger boats need specific yards.
