# Boat storage questions

Short answers. Each links to the full guide.

## About requests

**How does BoatParking.ca work?**

You send your boat details and what you need. We check marinas, yards and indoor buildings in your region and email you the options that fit.

**Is it free?**

Yes, sending a request is free and there is no obligation.

**Do you own the storage?**

No. We find space in marinas, storage yards and indoor buildings and send you the options.

**Which regions do you cover?**

All of Canada, with the most options in Ontario. See [locations](https://boatparking.ca/locations/).

## Storage and prices

**How much does winter boat storage cost?**

Outdoor from $30/ft, cold indoor from $55/ft, heated from $90/ft, before tax. See [the cost guide](https://boatparking.ca/guides/boat-storage-cost-canada/).

**When should I book?**

July to September for winter storage, winter for slips. See the [calendar](https://boatparking.ca/guides/haul-out-and-launch-calendar/).

**Indoor or outdoor?**

Outdoor with a good wrap is fine for most fibreglass boats. Indoor suits newer boats, classics and yachts. See [indoor vs outdoor](https://boatparking.ca/guides/indoor-vs-outdoor-boat-storage/).

**Can I keep my boat at home?**

Depends on your city. Several cities ban front-driveway parking in winter. See [driveway rules](https://boatparking.ca/guides/can-i-park-my-boat-in-my-driveway/).

**Do I have to winterize?**

Yes, unless the boat is in a heated building and the yard says otherwise. See the [checklist](https://boatparking.ca/guides/boat-winterizing-checklist/).
